Chef Ken Kanamoto's culinary journey originated with the pure love of Japanese cuisine, particularly the comfort Japanese food he grew up with. Chef Kanamoto came to London with over 20 years of culinary expertise, both working and learning. He began Shiki with his wife, Mariko Kanamoto. They strive to create good memories for consumers through the food by offering a dining space that transport customers to Japan, as well as the welcoming service and remarkable customers communications.
Since the 1990s, their contributions to the city have been significant, particularly to the Japanese community. Chef Kanamoto, with his exceptional culinary skills, not only provides Londoners with a true flavour of Japan, but also establishes Shiki's history and serves as a cornerstone for traditional Japanese taste.
Our founders have taught the Shiki team a lot, including how to impart culture with cuisine, and how to keep up their commitment to providing the greatest service to customers.
